Please Vote up to 3 Times a Day between Now and May 16!
This W.I.N.D. Story Project (Words Igniting Notional Drawings) is a unique literacy initiative we are hoping to launch through the Canadian Children’s Book Centre. Part classroom literacy project and part children’s book award, a full description of the idea we’ve submitted through the 2016 CST Inspired Learning Project competition can be found HERE or by clicking the image to the right.
This idea grew out of my work with over 1,600 primary students in every province/territory of Canada over the last two years. Among other things, this pilot project has resulted in almost 13,000 student drawings as they visualized the words to a story called The Christmas Wind (Red Deer Press – Aug 2016). You can see some of those drawings, hear from the teachers and students involved, connect with the radio and newspaper coverage the project elicited, and much more by visiting www.ChristmasWindStoryProject.com.
If you’re here, hopefully it’s because you want to help extend this project to more students in more schools with more stories, and doing that is as simple as voting for it up to 3x per day between now and May 16.
